Yeah, the acronym thing is nice

Acronym? Didn't think of it, because it's anachronistic but hey, the whole setting seems to be so, why not? ^^

Or else, I was looking for a grandiloquent name and I thought of: The Golden Buckler* of Divine Glory Radiance!! ^^
How does it sounds? XD
It doesn't make an acronym, though.

*buckler is kind of the "signature item" of the school.

A: The game will start at "29 uktar 1489 DR" (Something like november 29). Nice goal with Lantan... Again, perfect with the context of the hall of wonders... Yeah sorry you miss que tsunamis, huuuge waves bro... Gnomes live between 350 - 500 years... But FOR ME you may be one of the only survivors living in Baldur's Gate, you were just a child, but still have dreams about the ancient wonders of Lantan...

It doesn't have to be. The acronym thing is a common for MMO, since you can usually display a guild tag next to your name.

Otherwise you can indeed choose an item and a quality for it. You need to answer why this particular item (work with animal as well) though.

"Divine", "Glory" and "Radiance" wouldn't fit, given guild composition and occupations. You should more focus on explore (delvers, explorers...), find (keen eye...), and get rich (ressourceful, golden, emerald...) themes, or maybe martial (vanguard, undefeated...) themes

The first variant is problematic. You will need an actual golden buckler to justify it.

The second variant forces you to wear a yellow coat of arms. And have someone else, who isn't me, to wear one because there are multiple knights.

Or, to avoid the yellow coat of arms problem, the seekers of the golden bucklet (or the glorious seekers of the golden bucklet if you want to point out that it's all about glory).

Seriously, I'm pretty bad at naming organizations... I'll leave that to you (with a veto as the founder, of course)

Oh you do like all people do: look around you and try random object. Like if you were in a tavern you could think of knights of the silver fork, company of the half-full plate or seekers of frosty ale...

Yeah... Maybe it'll come naturally when I'll have my background done...


I think the real thing to find is what is the goal of this guild. What do we (Kami'character and mine) wanted when we founded that guild (my character has a goal outlining in going back to Lantan for exploring ruins, finding something in particular or things in general, but it's not really on the same line as Kami's character and his search of fame... mmmmhhhh)

I don't think my "fame thing" is a problem for the guild purpose. I mean, whatever we do, the more we do it the more famous the guild will become. From that, I will tell our stories in bars and taverns when we're back, and fame bringing fame at some point bards will sing our exploits (I'll feed them details... And a few coins ^^). This is all I need. Powerful people know we succeeded in various perilous missions and the folk has it that this Mattiston Moontay is the most skilled sword master the world ever saw. That's good to me. n_n

So first, Felondra thinks of his motivation for building a guild, and from that on we pick a guild name. Is it OK?

For myself, I've got my final goal: finance an expedition in Lantan to "resurrect" my family, one of the bests engineering families in Lantan. At the time of the Tsunamis, they were working on what they thought would be a key technology for bringing peace troughout gods, nations and all Faerûn. What it is exactly, I don't know. Was it finished when the Tsunamis came, I don't know. Did it or any trace of it survive... I don't know but my father was very conscious about that point of Gond'dogma who say: "Keep records of your strivings, ideas, and sample devices so that others may follow your work and improve on what you leave behind"

So I've got good hopes that he managed to keep trace of his inventions, the Peace included (it was always a joke for him, working on a piece called the Peace... and a good way of hiding the discussions about it).


Name for the guild? Peace-bringers? Seekers of the Peace?

Of course! And it's really gnome-like, to have a real name (as long as possible and funny) and an official one (cause THEY wouldn't understand)

So that's perfect, then!!
We've got a guild name, we've got characters names, we've got stats, skills, stuff, almost everything's ready!! ^^
(I still miss my Trait, my Ideal and my Flaw... and a skill (Medicine? Perception?), but except that I'm finished. ^^)

Swashbuckler and buckler are not the same things. So it would be either Peace Bringers or Swashbucklers.

I like the idea that it is 'swashbuckler' that makes the 'buckler' in the (short) name.
I like the gnome's name. n_n It's why I am the face of the guild.

+, as I said, my "public name" (the one I give to humans, etc.) is Zgryble Bommastickr. And seeing the names proposed in the books, it's not that wierd for a gnome

You don't. It's 75 + starting gold from your background. Except that you start naked, so don't forget to by a set of clothes.

Not the same and not even close. A buckler is a small shield, a swashbuckler is a heroic archetype. I would rather be heroic like that:
